Taylor, Matthews wed




Brooke Whitney Taylor and Phillip Michael Matthews, both of Goose Creek, were married on March 29 in the courtyard at Planter’s Inn in Charleston. The Rev. Sonny Holmes performed the 1 p.m. ceremony. Music was provided by the Coastal Chamber Musicians. A reception was held in the Garden Room.


The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Taylor of Goose Creek. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Martha McElveen and Mrs. Oree Taylor, both of Lake City, S.C.


The bride wore an A-line gown with allover beaded corded lace. She carried a hand tied nosegay, which consisted of cymbidium orchids, gerberas, freesia, roses and tulips. The nosegay was wrapped with her great-grandmother’s handkerchief.


The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Timms of Goose Creek. He is the grandson of Mrs. Dean Scarborough of Summerville, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Timms of Goose Creek.


Mrs. Brandy Sutherland of Goose Creek was the matron of honor. Flower girl was Mia Lane of Lexington, S.C.


Best man was Bryan Sutherland of Goose Creek. Groomsmen were Brian Lane of Lexington, and Donny Timms of Goose Creek.


The couple will reside in Hanahan.
