Reading teachers honored

The Berkeley Reading Council recently recognized 19 teachers who were named Distinguished Reading teachers for their respective schools.

The 12 elementary and seven middle and high school teachers demonstrated exemplary practices in the teaching of reading. They each presented a poster board session and explained their successful strategies for a panel of judges.

The judges then selected two winners to represent Berkeley Reading Council at the SCIRA Conference in Myrtle Beach.

Linda Beckroge from Hanahan Elementary and Kelli Roberson from College Park Middle School were named Berkeley Reading Council’s Distinguished Reading Teachers for 2007-2008. All of the teachers will be honored at a banquet later this spring.
