The Green Wave rushed for 277 yards and passed for another 51 yards, but a fumble late in the game cost Summerville the game. The Wave had the ball and a chance for a scoring drive in the closing minutes but then the Cougars recovered a fumble in the end zone with 3:30 remaining to take the six-point lead.
Summerville got on the board first with a 7-yard touchdown run by Zach Bailey late in the second quarter.
After the half, Colleton gained the advantage with a 40-yard scoring pass and an extra-point kick with 6:15 remaining in the third quarter.
Summerville pulled ahead in the final quarter on a 2-yard TD run by Myliq Delaney and a two-point conversion run which Delaney also handled.
However, Colleton tied the game with 3:40 remaining on a 6-yard TD run and an extra-point kick.
Ten seconds later the Cougars capitalized on the fumble and then held on for the win.
