The ZBA is a volunteer board made up of seven members who are appointed by the mayor and city council. Board members must reside inside the city limits, have demonstrated their civic interest and general knowledge of the city, can make independent judgment, and are available to prepare for and attend meetings.
The ZBA meets to hear appeals of the administrative decisions of the zoning administrator in his enforcement of the zoning ordinance, variance requests from the zoning ordinance or requests for conditional use permits. Other special meetings and workshops may be required. Meetings usually begin at 6:30 p.m. and are held at Goose Creek City Hall, 519 North Goose Creek Blvd.
If you are interested in serving as a volunteer on the ZBA, please send your resume to Kelly Lovette, City Clerk, PO Drawer 1768, Goose Creek, SC 29445 or hand deliver your resume to Lovette at City Hall. For more information, please contact city planning at 797-6220 ext. 118.
