The concert – originally scheduled for Saturday, April 26 – has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 24.
Goose Creek Mayor Michael Heitzler said last week’s shower was a stroke of bad luck for the city and hundreds of excited concert-goers.
“We’ve certainly had back luck with the weather,” Heitzler said. “We had safety concerns about having so many cars parking and likely getting stuck in the field next to the municipal center.
“While the rain had cleared out in time for the concert, the damage had already been done.”
Last October saw the city’s spring festival canceled because of rain.
Fortunately, all musical groups have agreed to perform for the rescheduled event.
The event will be held from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Marguerite H. Brown Municipal Center (519 N. Goose Creek Blvd.) and will include music, food and fireworks.
Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair for seating at the outdoor venue. ??For more information, call 797-6220 ext. 117 or visit www.cityofgoosecreek.com.
