Search on for Subway robber

The Subway at 128 St. James Avenue in Goose Creek was robbed at gunpoint Monday night and police are still trying to identify the suspect.

The man, who wore a camouflage mask and a black hooded sweatshirt, entered the store around 10:20 p.m., pointed a handgun at employees and yelled at them to get on the floor, according to a police report.

The suspect ran out of the side of the business with a bag full of money before police arrived. A bloodhound tracked his scent across Highway 52 to Lumber Lane, but lost it near the rear of Barfield’s Appliance store, the report said.

Witnesses describe the suspect as being an African-American male, either five-feet, six inches or five-feet, eleven inches, weighing between 150 and 180 pounds, according to the report.

Anyone with information about the robbery should contact Goose Creek Police at 572-4300.
