Betty Price

Betty Jean Hamby Price, 74, of Goose Creek, wife of the late Demus Riley Price, died Thursday, May 1. She was 74.

Born on Dec. 31, 1933 in Wilkes County, North Carolina, she was one of nine children of John Hamby and Annie Mae Holder Hamby.  She was homemaker and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by two sons and their spouses, Larry Hamby (Sarah) and Tommy Price (Debi) both of Goose Creek; two daughters, Teresa Dreher (Bubba) of Goose Creek and Brenda Daff (Marion) of Moncks Corner; five grandsons, five granddaughters, 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Izola Hamby; and brother, Edward Hamby both of Lenior, NC.  She was preceded in death by her husband, and son David Wayne Price.

Services were held Saturday, May 3 at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel. Entombment, Plantation Memorial Gardens, 3345 South Live Oak Drive, Moncks Corner. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to North Trident Baptist Church, 9939 Jamison Road, Summerville, SC 29485; or one’s favorite charity.
