Call, Irma Margaret Parker

Irma Margaret Parker Call, 88, mother of Berkeley County Councilman Bob Call, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Medical Center of Central Georgia after a long illness. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church with Reverend Steve Gray officiating. Interment will be in Christ's Sanctified Holy Church Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010, at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church.

Mrs. Call was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Brittan Harrison Parker and Alice Tingle Parker. She had lived in Perry for nearly 20 years, having moved here from Raleigh, North Carolina. A homemaker most of her life, she was a faithful member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. While southern gospel music has always been an important part of her life, she has been named by many in the church as one of the "Best Singers" at the campground. Mrs. Call was preceded in death by her sisters, Alma Gray and Mildred Vaughn.

Her loving family members include her husband of almost 67 years, Robert Call, Sr. of Perry; children, Robert Call, Jr. of Goose Creek, SC, Edward Call (Jamie) of Clearwater, FL, and Joan Curry of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Robert Call, III (Lisa) of Charleston, SC, Alice Bryant (Randy) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Bryan Call of Charleston, SC, Geoffrey Call of Goose Creek, SC, Katina O'Conner (Ed) of New York, Brittan Call of Tallahassee, FL, Shannon Bennett (Brian) of Erwin, NC, and Benjamin Curry (Rebecca) of Raleigh, NC; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Alice Gray of Perry, and Inez Hagan of Charleston, SC.
