The “Give Back” campaign allows local non-profit organizations to earn donations in exchange for consumer reviews of local businesses on PalmettoBizBuzz.com. Organizations will receive $1.00 for every review posted; individual charities are eligible for a maximum donation of $1000. In total, PalmettoBizBuzz.com plans to donate at least $60,000 to non-profit organizations across the state.
“During this challenging economic period, local charities are having a hard time meeting their fundraising goals,” said Ward Lassoe, President of PalmettoBizBuzz.com. “We see the ‘Give Back’ campaign as a win-win opportunity for everyone. The charities earn donations to help support their important efforts, and PalmettoBizBuzz.com generates additional reviews to help consumers make educated choices when they’re searching for businesses in their community.”
To participate in the “Give Back” program, local charities must complete a simple registration form to confirm their eligibility. The program is open to all tax-exempt charitable non-profit organizations in South Carolina. Eligible organizations must be certified as Section 501(c)(3) according to the Internal Revenue Code. More information is available at www.palmettobizbuzz.com/giveback.
Consumers may review up to 25 businesses as part of the “Give Back” program for a maximum donation of $25.00. Each time a consumer posts a review, they get the opportunity to choose which charity will receive their $1.00 donation. If a consumer hasn’t already created an account on PalmettoBizBuzz.com, they will need to complete a simple registration form in order to post reviews. Only reviews written between June 13 and July 30, 2008 will be eligible for the “Give Back” program.
“Once a local non-profit organization has signed up for the “Give Back” campaign, they should contact their supporters and urge them to write reviews of local businesses on PalmettoBizBuzz.com,” said Lassoe. “The more reviews they write, the more money that the charity will earn. This is an outstanding way for South Carolina consumers to support their favorite cause.”
Consumers must write reviews of local businesses to participate in the “Give Back” program. Reviews of national chain stores will not earn donations for charities. To encourage feedback on a wide range of businesses, each consumer can also review only two restaurants or bars as part of their 25 reviews eligible for the “Give Back” program.
The program is scheduled to conclude on July 30, 2008. Participating charities will receive their donations at the conclusion of the “Give Back” program.
