Stratford’s grapplers competed in the Coach Trap Memorial Wrestling tournament (formerly the Battery Creek duals) and placed fifth in the event by edging Beaufort 32-31.
The Knights finished third in their pool with a 2-2 mark behind eventual champion Summerville and West-Oak.
Summerville defeated Lugoff-Elgin 35-32 in the tournament finals, while West-Oak knocked off Hilton Head for third place.
Stratford, which knocked off West Ashley 45-26 Jan. 13, will take part in the Sumter Duals this weekend.
Hanahan’s wrestling team competed in the a four-way meet at Waccamaw Saturday and knocked off Waccamaw (51-23), Timberland (66-14) and Socastee (69-9).
This weekend, the Hawks, ranked second in Class AA, will compete in the Lakeland Duals at Ninety-Six High School.
Last Wednesday, Goose Creek kept alive its bid for the Region 7-AAAA championship with an easy 64-13 win over Wando. Only Berkeley on Jan. 20 stands in the Gators way of their first region title since 2007.
