GCHS grad leads nation in three-pointers

Erskine sophomore guard Brandon Wright won the Conference Carolina’s men's basketball regular season scoring crown for 2007-2008.

The sharpshooter from Goose Creek scored 17.6 points per game while scoring 475 points on the season. He scored two more points than Mt. Olive sophomore Kendrick Easley.

Wright, the nation's leading three-point shooter, hit 117 three-pointers on the year.

"Brandon is a special young man, a special player,” Erskine Head Coach Mark Peeler said. “His work ethic is like no other I have ever coached.

“He is an excellent basketball player but an even better person. We are really proud of his accomplishments but know he is capable of being even better in the next two years.”

Wright was selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's basketball Player of the Week during week 11 in the 2007-08 season.
